Galen Zammara was born in Switzerland and raised in California. Galen graduated with honors from The Culinary Institute of America. Upon graduation he moved to NYC to work for acclaimed Chef David Bouley. After two years with Bouley, Zamarra left the United States to work in Europe under some of the most decorated chefs in France, 3-Michelin starred chefs Georges Blanc, Michel Bras, and Alain Passard. He returned to the US after four years to again work with Chef Bouley.
He opened Mas Farmhouse in April 2004 to immediate acclaim. In 2006, he won the Rising Star Chef award from Star Chefs. Building off his success, he opened a second restaurant, Mas La Grillade. After closing La Grillade, he turned his focus to the relaunch of Almanac, a micro seasonal fast casual restaurant.
He has starred in multiple television programs including “Go Ahead, Make my Dinner”, Chopped, and has hosted various educational forums world wide.Back to Network
